Job Description
reThink Green is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to serve as the Project Coordinator for the Climate Adaptation & Resiliency Training Program for Northeastern Ontario Communities. This initiative aims to provide municipalities and Indigenous communities with tailored training on urban agriculture and climate-resilient building practices. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in planning, coordinating, and delivering this impactful program.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Coordination
• Oversee the day-to-day implementation of the Climate Adaptation & Resiliency Training Program.
• Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Ensure all activities align with the program’s goals and funding requirements.
• Track progress, report on outcomes, and identify risks or issues impacting project delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the primary liaison for program participants, including local government staff, elected officials, and First Nations representatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with collaborating partners, including the Georgian Bay Mnidoo Gamii Biosphere.
• Facilitate communication and coordination between stakeholders, partners, and the internal team.
Training and Events
• Coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, and events.
• Work with the project team to develop and deliver training materials tailored to participants' needs.
• Support the design and facilitation of project kickoff, workshops, and wrap-up events.
Budget and Reporting
• Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with the approved budget.
• Prepare progress reports for the Executive Director and funding agencies.
• Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and deliverables.
Team Leadership
• Collaborate closely with internal staff (Communications/Course Coordinator, Climate Innovation Officer) to ensure cohesive program delivery.
• Provide guidance and support to the project team, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, ideally within environmental sustainability, community engagement, or government sectors.
• Familiarity with climate adaptation, sustainability, or related initiatives is a strong asset.
Skills and Competencies
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Asana, Trello).
• Experience working with municipalities, Indigenous communities, or other regional organizations is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Other Requirements
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (for regional travel).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as required.

Job Description
The Flour Mill Community Farm (FMCF) is the first ever urban farm in the City of Greater Sudbury. The FMCF uses ecological urban agriculture to offer youth an opportunity to develop employable skills, work experience and character building. This seasonal position will support the operation of the urban farm and market operations. Helping in day-to-day farm operations, assisting in Farm Coordinator with tasks, and overseeing youth when in gardens, giving direction and guidance when needed. Assist in managing weekly market set up and tear down.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The Market Garden Worker position supports the operation of the urban farm and market activities, working closely with the Farm Supervisor to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
The Market Garden Worker will gain familiarity with regenerative agriculture and permaculture practices while focusing on farm upkeep and maintenance. They will model and foster a positive, hands-on work environment, support the team and volunteers in managing time and meeting goals, prepare for tasks efficiently, and harvest, wash, and pack produce with accuracy for farmers' markets. Additionally, they will ensure the timely clean-up and organization of farm sites.
This role requires adaptability to perform physical work in all weather conditions, strong organizational skills to prioritize daily tasks, and the ability to engage effectively with community members and students from diverse backgrounds.
Job Requirements:
Ability to complete labour intensive tasks (lifting, digging, hoeing, hand-weeding, harvesting)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Understanding of the basic garden skills
Experience in an urban garden or agricultural setting is preferred
Ability to guide youth in farm and market operations
Ability to work outside in a range of weather conditions
Excellent communication skills
Shows initiative and problem solving skills, seeking assistance as needed.
Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, sun, bugs, pollen, etc)
Show enthusiasm for ecological urban agriculture, nature and community

Job Description
Youth workers play a vital role in supporting the FMCF team by educating younger staff about sustainable and regenerative agriculture, environmental stewardship, nutrition, life sciences, and health. They assist with hands-on tasks on the farm and during educational sessions, drawing on their own experiences to highlight the program's value and helping participants articulate their goals and aspirations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include collaborating with farm staff to deliver engaging educational activities for youth and community members, as well as maintaining educational spaces such as the urban farm, Indigenous medicine garden, food forest, compost areas, and farmers market. Under the direction of the Farm Supervisor, Youth Workers contribute to farm operations through activities like weeding, seeding, transplanting, tilling, composting, watering, mulching, trellising, harvesting, processing, and distribution. This position fosters mentorship, skill development, and a deeper connection to environmental sustainability.
