Community Builders Awards – Environment 2019

In 2019, reThink Green was awarded the Community Builder’s Award in the Environment Category.

The Community Builders Awards of Excellence, presented by Northern Life, honours individuals and organizations in nine community categories. Nominations are judged by an independent panel, collectively representing expertise in each award category.

In the Environment Category, the award recognizes a person or group that has had an important positive impact on our environment, both man-made and natural. Award winners demonstrate what is possible in improving our environmental footprint in our community.

MPP France Gelinas notes that since 2006, reThink Green’s “efforts demonstrate the leadership and collaborative spirit tenacity and hard work needed to be true community builders.”

International Credit Union Day (2019)

The Sudbury Credit Union chose reThink Green as one of 10 local organization to receive a surprise donation to honour International Credit Union Day.

Green Communities Canada is a national association of community organizations working with homeowners, businesses, governments and communities to reduce our impact on the environment.

ReThink Green received the award for Innovation in 2016 to celebrate the launch of Green Economy North. This award recognizes an organization that demonstrates innovation in programming, partnerships, marketing and events. The award was shared with other newly launched Green Economy Hubs in Durham and York Region.

Green Communities Canada – Organizational Resilience (2016)

The Organizational Resilience award is given to an environmental organization which has continued to succeed despite challenges, thanks to a host of qualities including flexibility and adaptation. This award was to honour reThink Green’s 10-year anniversary.

These awards show that Sudbury has an important place in Canada’s environmental efforts, and that reThink Green is well-positioned to be a leader as our economy makes a shift to sustainability.
